Située en plein centre géographique de la péninsule, Madrid est la capitale de l’Espagne depuis 1561, sous le règne de Felipe II. La ville a depuis conservé une très riche histoire et un patrimoine architectural sans égal en Europe, que les Madrilènes ont su transformer avec humour et bon goût en un art de vivre.

Madrid est une destination immanquable pour celles et ceux qui aiment l'art et l'histoire. Trois des plus grands musées d'Europe sont distants de 15 petites minutes à pied : le Musée du Prado, le Reina Sofia et le Thyssen-Bornemisza. De Rembrandt à Picasso, de Goya à Monet... Madrid est une grande galerie d'art qui vous inspirera très sûrement.

Mais on ne saurait restreindre Madrid qu’à elle-même : à une heure de voiture à peine vous trouverez des bijoux tels que Tolède, Ségovie, L'Escorial, Chinchón, Aranjuez, Alcala de Henares... la liste est plus longue encore, rendant très facile la préparation d'un séjour d'une semaine où chaque journée serait bien différente. Et tout cela sans évoquer l'intense vie nocturne madrilène, déjà célèbre dans une bonne partie du monde...
